Roger Coryell – Writer. Storyteller. Marketing Geek.
Roger Coryell is what happens when a San Francisco morning DJ grows up and decides to reinvent media from the inside out. A born communicator, Roger cut his teeth on the airwaves before jumping headfirst into the wild frontier of digital marketing—back when “click-through rate” still needed explaining. In the early ’90s, he helped launch some of the first radio station websites, built streaming platforms before broadband was a thing, and was among the first to prove that email, content, and web could drive real results for brands.
Fast forward a couple of decades, and Roger is now a seasoned strategist with a storyteller’s soul. He’s led content and marketing for destinations like Visit Napa Valley, Visit Tri-Valley, RussianRiver.com, and DogTrekker (which he helped co-found), blending old-school narrative craft with data, design, and digital fluency. He knows how to build a brand from scratch—or untangle one that lost its voice. His campaigns don’t just get clicks—they connect. Roger is an award-winning journalist, and senior editor of The Sonoma County Gazette, a monthly community news magazine.
At Brandhound, Roger is the north star. He writes, edits, strategizes, obsesses over analytics dashboards, and still gets a thrill from a perfect headline. He believes every brand has a story—and if it’s told well, it can change everything. He also believes in giving back: 10% of Brandhound’s work is pro bono, and he remains deeply involved in community media and nonprofit outreach. He lives in west Sonoma County with a pile of dogs and a bottomless appetite for great stories.
Cody Ransom – Creative Director, Professional Brand Tamer
Cody Ransom has spent the last few decades doing time at some of the Bay Area’s most legendary (and now mostly ghosted) creative powerhouses—AKQA, Goodby Silverstein & Partners, Venables Bell & Partners, and Butler, Shine, Stern & Partners. If you worked in advertising between the late ’90s and the agency collapse of the 2010s, there’s a good chance Cody was somewhere in the war room, whiteboarding a campaign, fixing your headline, or calmly suggesting that maybe Comic Sans wasn’t the right choice.
He’s concepted for global brands, launched scrappy startups, rebranded entire wine regions, and art-directed everything from Super Bowl spots to menus. But Cody’s not about the ego—he’s about the work: thoughtful, clean, story-driven design that resonates. At Brandhound, he’s the guy who makes it all come together visually—logos, websites, campaigns, billboards, you name it. If it needs to look sharp and make people feel something, Cody’s on it.
He sketches. He shoots. He builds in Figma like it’s Legos. He’s fluent in Adobe, allergic to clichés, and always packing one unexpected idea that somehow makes the whole thing sing. Cody’s superpower? Making brands feel like they’ve always existed. And yeah—he’s also the reason our pitch decks look ten times better than they need to.
Lark Coryell – Brand Identity & Color Specialist
Lark Coryell is the creative heartbeat of Brandhound, with a career devoted to making brands look their absolute best. As a brand identity specialist with decades of experience, Lark has honed an extraordinary eye for design and detail – especially when it comes to color and print. In her early career, she worked at Intel’s in-house marketing group, where she earned a reputation as the “color/production goddess of Intel” for her expertise in print production and color management . From ensuring the precise Pantone hue in a logo to perfecting print materials, Lark became the go-to expert for maintaining brand consistency and quality. Her Intel days, combined with years in Bay Area advertising agencies, built her mastery in high-end print design, packaging, and brand identity development.
After moving on from the corporate tech world, Lark established herself as a brand-identity consultant in the San Francisco/Oakland area . She has helped shape visual identities for a variety of clients – from local businesses to global companies – always emphasizing storytelling through design. Colleagues and clients know Lark for her intuitive sense of color psychology and branding trends; she not only designs logos and layouts, but also advises on color palettes and visuals that communicate a brand’s personality at a glance. In fact, Lark’s ability to harmonize color and imagery has led her to work as a color consultant for specialty projects, where getting the visual tone just right is critical.
At The Brandhound Agency, Lark wears many hats: creative director for branding, print-production expert, and resident perfectionist. She spearheads logo design, print collateral, and visual strategy for our clients, drawing on over 20 years of hands-on experience in what makes a brand identity succeed. Her background includes managing print campaigns for major tech and hospitality brands, as well as guiding creative teams at an ad agency level – all of which inform the boutique-quality work Brandhound delivers. Despite her impressive credentials, Lark’s approach is very personal and collaborative. She’s as comfortable critiquing a website color scheme as she is hand-selecting papers and inks for a winery’s brochure. Passionate about local culture, Lark also lends her talents to community projects (she’s a longtime Guerneville resident and even a singer, performing with groups like The Larkdales for fun). With her blend of technical skill and artistic flair, Lark ensures every Brandhound project not only looks beautiful but also feels on-brand and meaningful.
